Blessings everyone. I wanted to share this poem titled, “Wake Up Call” from my latest book “The Awakening, Pieces of Life Volume 2.”
I am dedicating this poem to all of those who out there fighting for our equal rights which we have been doing for decades now, for the unjust that has been happening in our country for centuries up to the present and to our fallen brothers and sisters who lost their lives at the hands of police brutality, racism and hatred.
I live in a very diverse community where African Americans are not the only walking targets but there is a high population of immigrants as well from Africa and the Middle East. We don’t want to be seen as a threat or a target because of the color of our skin or where we are from. We deserve to live too.
The time is now. Please don’t be silent.
