“Float On! The Poem.” Sending Creative Encouragement

Peace, love and light everyone. I hope all is well. I wanted to share this poem that I wrote in the spring of 2021. We were challenged to use the metaphor of a feather on an ocean in my Writing to Wellness class at Creative Suitland, facilitated by C. Thomas. I decided to write a poem that would be of encouragement for people.

I chose the title based off of that infamous song by The Floaters, “Float On!” Despite the heavy times we are facing, we have to try and find it within ourselves to dive into our purpose and to continue to float on despite the stormy weather.

Also in the video you will see a very cool t-shirt that I have on and this is designed by my friend who is a wonderful songstress, songwriter and educator, Teisha Marie! If interested and you would like to support her t-shirt line which is based off of her songs and albums, check out the website: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/teemarie

Many blessings to everyone and if you would like to check out more inspirational poetry, a very cool blog, podcasts and shows I’ve been on talking about the writing journey and my poetry books, then I invite you to scroll through the rest of my website.

May peace be with each of you.

National Poetry Month 2021 Post #2!

Just as promised, here is post #2 for National poetry month 2021! This is titled, “Living Dreams” also from my poetry book titled, “The Awakening, Pieces of Life, Volume 2.”

During this past 14 months of being in the pandemic we’ve had a lot of time to think and be still mostly but still busy for most. I know I have been very busy with helping my son in virtual school, getting my health and wellness coaching practice (Divine Wryte Wellness) off the ground and I have been doing some writing. This is definitely been a time where I have seen people not only think about their dreams, but to put an action plan behind them and make them come true.

Enjoy this poem! Be inspired, encouraged and as I tell people when they ask me what are some things that you did in regards to birthing your dreams. I tell them that I took one step and just kept putting one foot in front of the other no matter how long it took. I also surrounded myself with positive people that support and believe in me and I am cautious as to who I talk to about my dreams. Not everyone wants to see you cross that finish line in regards to making your dreams come true. Be well and blessed ✌🏾
