Happy New Year 2022!

 

Blessings everyone. As we enter a new year, I learned a lot of lessons from 2021. One very important one back in September through the Writing to Wellness Workshop for Women facilitated by Kim B. Miller (Poet Laureate of Prince William County in VA), was that it’s okay for all of us who think we’re super women and men that rock a multitude of capes…to let them go. Yep ..I said it. Passing on knowledge.

My poem says it all. Enjoy, God bless each of you and thank you all for rocking with me in 2021 poetically and through the wellness world. Let go in 2022 and be free!

Happy 2nd Anniversary to The Awakening, Pieces of Life Volume 2

Something super special happened 2 years ago to date…the release of my third poetry book, “The Awakening, Pieces of Life Volume 2!”

It was a super cold evening (literally about 24 degrees or so), but that didn’t stop people from coming out to support! We had a great time!!!

Honored and blessed to keep pushing in my purpose and touching many people’s lives through my gift of poetry.

Marathon to Inner Peace, a Poem

                            Finishing the 2007 Nike’s Women’s Marathon

Many blessings to all! It’s been a while since I shared a poem. Enjoy, “Marathon to Inner Peace.” You will hear that we were challenged in my Writing to Wellness class hosted by Creative Suitland and facilitated by Spoken Word artist and Poet Extraordinare C. Thomas to write about the journey to inner peace…do you give up because it’s taking too long or keep going?

Healing is painful and is not a Sprint, just how I completed the marathon in the picture above…it’s one step at a time and you find your pace. However, the other side is a great reward and much deserved! You deserve to heal!
